March 11

C'mon Mom! Give me some pedal extenders! I know the way to the Children's Museum. Let's go!!!

March 10

First, Nicholas hard at work with the shape sorter from Aunt Kerrie

Then, Tyler drumming like a maniac. Notice that he's concentrating deeply -- you can tell because his tongue is out.

March 8

We were having a really bad day so I decided spaghetti and chocolate pudding might put things back in order. At least they were using their spoons...

March 7

Tyler splashing in the bathtub.

March 7

Concerto Number One by Nicholas ...

March 3

Kate said we needed more bath pictures, so here you go.

February 17

Ride em, cowbaby!

February 16

The boys have become fascinated with rocking chairs on this trip. Nicholas set all the chairs to rocking at one time (he can be very industrious). On this stop they learned how to climb up in them all by themselves.

February 14

Since Nicholas had shown so much interest in the ocean yesterday we decided to go to the beach today. Both of them enjoyed themselves immensely. Nicholas liked looking at the ocean, but not so much wading (the water was cold). Tyler amused himself on the beach picking up seashells and the like. He even let me give him a sandy skirt.

February 13

We took a morning trip to the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine. Carolyn and I know Kate would appreciate the engineering (she did) and the boys would enjoy puttering around (they did). Nicholas became obsessed with going into the bay, which we could not allow, and Tyler had the first of many pictures of him taken next to historical artifacts.

January 11

Nicholas was having "scale issues". He thought he could fit his whole self in that bucket. Mama Kate was happy to let him try.

February 9

We took a trip to Blue Springs to see the manatees. Kate dives with them at the zoo, cleaning their tank, but they really like to play with her for some indefinable reason. She wanted to see them in the wild. It turns out we picked a good day -- there were a record 196 manatees in the spring that day.

The boys, though, were mostly interesting in crunching leaves on the boardwalk. Look at that happy face on Nicholas.

February 6

First trip to the beach!!!!

Nicholas got chilly quickly and started shivering. I swear that boy has no body fat even though he eats like a champ. Tyler was okay but a little scared when a wave knocked him down (even though I caught him before his face hit the water). The Moms decided to try again another day when we were more prepared.

February 4

While driving to Florida we stopped for lunch and playing at a peach orchard (they love peaches). The orchard had a lovely cafeteria, gift shop, and play area. Have we mentioned how important play areas are for toddlers? They had a blast.

We decided that we'd like to take a picture of them standing next to the tractor for Mama Kate. We know how much she appreciates these things. The boys, however, had other plans. They cannot stand still! They are TODDLERS! Toddlers must toddle!

We decided that solo pictures next to tractor would be acceptable.

January 23

Nicholas is RICH beyond belief! He has three puppies! THREE, I tell you! Have you ever been so excited?!?

January 18

It snowed! They like to hear the snow crunching under their feet, so we let them play.

Neither rain nor snow nor dark of night will keep Nicholas from his appointed rounds -- on the slide ...

Tyler, meanwhile amused himself playing peek-a-boo in the playhouse.

January 18

The boys have recently rediscovered my glasses. They like to try them on and look at me cross-eyed. While we aren't encouraging this behavior in general this was awfully cute.

January 11

I don't recall how this bin ended up on the floor, but it provided a good bit of entertainment. It proved the old saw of kids loving boxed more than the presents in them.

Tyler decided to read in the box,

while Nicholas practiced using a handrail to get in and out of the box.

January 8

Today was the first really nice day of spring. We felt that the boys deserved a little playing outside.

First, a picture of Nicholas with a BALL. Walking with BALLs is so much fun. Look, I could throw my BALL. But then Tyler might get my BALL. I must keep the BALL!

Kate has taught both of them how to dribble a soccer ball (which we call a football -- this is going to be very confusing for them later). Their Aunt Beki would be so proud.

January 7

Tyler doesn't want Nicholas to have all the reading fun to himself -- he must investigate!
