Catching up

I've been instructed to update the baby blog today. Sorry it took so long. I don't really have a good excuse. I mean, they've both had colds and I'm tired but that doesn't account for leaving my loyal viewers without baby pictures for a whole month. I'm going to try to get on at least a weekly schedule, but my boss keeps wanting me to work (What's up with that?)

In return for your everlasting patience I've uploaded two pictures for a lot of days. Enjoy!

June 24

I tease Nicholas that he is destined to wear baby blue shirts for the rest of his life. People write songs about those kind of eyes, you know. Probably not so much about the food smeared on his face though.

Nicholas thinks this bottle deserves the "four-limb treatment".

Tyler eating a veggie wagon wheel. This is the first baby stuff that I thought I would like but didn't.

This is what I discovered upon investigating Tyler's suspicious silence.

Yes, that's a completely full tub of wipes that he's disassembled. He's very industrious. He was so proud of himself that I couldn't be too upset; I mean, look at that smile!

I managed to get most of the wipes back in the box and remind myself that such items can no longer live on the floor. That baby can't crawl, but he rolls really well.

I went into the kitchen to wash bottles or something else productive but suddenly hear screaming. I ran into the baby pen and this is what I found. Of course, instead of correcting the situation I took a picture for you. Here's what they would have said if they could talk.

Nicholas: "Get away from the bleepstart table! I want to play!"
Tyler: "Mom, he's crawling on me!!!"
Nicholas: "There's something in my way!! I can't reach the bleepstart table!!!"
Tyler: "Get off!!!"

Toenail clipping time! It's the only time they get to watch TV. You can see that Tyler is transfixed by the sound and motion. Like mother like son.

Yes, the camera disappeared again. We can't just leave it on the floor anymore because Nicholas is crawling. It's a lifestyle change for everyone.

This is the boys after a meal. I leave them in the exersaucer and bouncing buggy while I get everything cleaned up. Notice that Nicholas is destined to live life in a bib.

June 13

Air baths are really quite fun now that Nicholas is more mobile. I've had almost decided that putting down the mats is a waste of time, but Tyler is not crawling just yet.

Baby's first pride parade! (and Momma Kate's too!) We made sure to dress for the occassion.

June 11

After an inexplicable absence of several days we relocated the camera. Here's their grandpa (big tough Ranger dude) feeding Nicholas.

Nicholas gets to meet the person Momma Kate's been spending all her time with.

Nicholas is a very hungry caterpillar.

Tyler is investigating the eyes and nose on the lambie. They are very curious.

June 5

"I love my lambie! I will curl my naked self in it! I love my lambie so much!"

June 4

"Hey, I'm up on my knees! Now what do I do?" Despite our best efforts we couldn't get a good pic of Nick crawling.

June 3

"Mom, would you like the ladybug?" asks Nicholas.

June 2

Tyler is trying to crawl. He figures maybe if he pushes off the wall he can make some progress.

June 1

I love this photo of Nicholas. He's just completely happy curled up in my lap.

First, a picture of Tyler being a lounge lizard ...

And now, a picture of Nicholas in diaper and bib. He must have really messed up his shirt to be allowed to play topless ...

"Hey mom -- did you know there's a baby in there? I wonder if I can eat his nose..."

Bath time! You see that Nicholas prefers the devil duckie, while Tyler is more traditional.
