I love this picture because it shows Nicholas sucking on one of the octopus' legs. It's very cute when he manages it.

Jeb was asleep in the nap nest (we throw a blanket on top of the arch to make it a little darker for them) when I went to put Nicholas down. I was mostly surprised that he stayed in there for as long as he did -- a good five minutes. Nicholas appreciated having some fur to hold.
Nicholas playing with the ladybug in his "batting cage". He likes the ladybug because it has crinkly wings.
It appears that Jeb is not going to move off his spot on the futon to make room for Nicholas. Or maybe, he's there to make sure Nicholas doesn't roll off. It's hard to tell from this angle...
Tyler is really going after those fingers! We're so happy he's figured out how to soothe himself (sometimes).
Tyler is going through the "hand discovery" phase. He loves to hold onto your fingers. He always seems to have a hand in his mouth (we think he might be teething). He shows a distinct preference for his right hand, often holding it in place with the left as shown here.
Nicholas and Tyler staring at the new octopus toy, a Christmas present from their Uncle Jude and Aunt Erika. Everyone loves this one! Nicholas kept his head up for a good three minutes just staring at it. When they get older they will learn that each leg sounds a different note when you squeeze it, but right now they're just enjoying looking at it. Also, for some reason it smells like vanilla (they like that too).
Nicholas will happily model the new hat from Aunt Kerrie. He looks as though he's just waking up...
First swim! Sometimes it's nice to know gay men; they are likely to have indoor heated pools, and they might just invite you over for a swim. That's Tyler waving to you. I wish I could take credit for trying a new photography technique, but the camera was just acting funny. I kindof like it anyway; it gives sortof an underwater feel. Anyway, the babies had an awesome time!
This is Tyler's maiden voyage in the new batting cage from Aunt Beki. He's really digging it. We have similiar tastes, my sister and I -- I had very nearly bought this just the week before.
Today we're bringing you the feline members of the family! First up is Bailey, as she was when we returned from an outing. She's just happy she gets to sleep on her couch -- those little noisy monkeys are using it most days.
This handsome fellow is Jeb. He was supervising some tummy time from his perch in front of the bay window until I got his attention.
Zena likes to sleep around the glider, which isn't a problem unless you don't notice her and step on her while carrying a baby. Much tap dancing by both parties will ensue.
